Even My Republican Father is Voting for Barack Obama
August 29, 2008 by Bryan
Last night’s events at the Mile High Stadium in Denver cannot be summed up in words. It was inspiring, emotional and unifying. Barack delivered his message loud and clear. He laid out his exact plan and course for change for this nation. The past three nights haven’t brought chills, instead eyes welling up– not because of sadness — but because of the hope and promise for a better nation.
My father, who some my call a “Washington lobbyist” has had his mind made up for months now. A lifelong registered Republican, he is proudly voting for Barack Obama. Dad isn’t one of those dirty lobbyists — he has lobbied for some 35+ years on renewable energy policies — specifically wind energy. He’s helped to bring some of the biggest energy reform bills to the desk of many presidents.
Some may assume he’d be a Democrat, but he’s quite fiscally conservative. Something has changed for him this election cycle. He too, as a 69 year-old, has witnessed something in Barack and he’s ready to put his money on Barack (well actually he isn’t allowed to donate to Barack because he is a lobbyist - but did donate to the DNC).
In case you are the one person that missed the speech last night, here it is:

Considering what he fathered this really isn’t any surprise.
Leave it to you to say that. Surprised you had time to comment - isn’t Saturday the day when you shoot to kill people with a skin color different than yours?
