Trailer: Harvey Milk’s Story Comes to the Big Screen in “Milk”
September 4, 2008 by Bryan
Gus Van Sant directs “Milk“, the biopic on Harvey Milk, the first openly gay city supervisor of San Francisco, California, and gay rights activist. Who was, according to Time magazine, “the first openly gay man elected to any substantial political office in the history of the planet.” Though tragically on November 27, 1978 he was shot and killed at San Francisco City Hall.
The film stars Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch, James Franco and Diego Luna. If the trailer is any indication, this is going to be an amazing movie. Trailer below.

I have to sheepishly admit that I only saw the orignal Milk film just a month or two ago. I can hardly wait for this new one! Especially at this time of year, in this country. We need some inspiration.
After the election of Obama and the trio of states that voted to write discrimination into the lawbooks, this movie comes at a perfect time.
