Anti-prop people should read this blog post: http://dissentingjustice.blogspot.com/2008/10/same-sex-marriage-and-racial-justice.html . It responds to proponents’ efforts to mobilize blacks to vote for the measure.

If prop 8 passes despite Obama’s surge nationwide and in California, what will this mean for US liberals? Probably - that they are overhyping the meaning of Obama’s defeat of McCain. http://dissentingjustice.blogspot.com/2008/10/split-ticket-what-californias-battle.html

Just want to say that eventually science will discover that who you love is not a CHOICE. I think that all of us would agree that if we could be heterosexual we would. I believe that God made me this way and this is my “lessons” for this life. Maybe I was a bigot in a former life? Don’t know the answer to that. I have a theory, when we can detect homosexuality inutero, then it will be the “christians” who will find justification for abortions…..you just watch. (hope I am wrong). Most of the “christians” are not. Oh, one more thing to the person on a website that said God performed the first “marriage”. Why do you think you put that in quotes? I don’t believe the word marriage is translatable from Hebrew or Greek. Wedding, yes.

i am only 16.i am totally and completely against proposistion 8 i dont think any one should have the right to take away somebody elses dreams to get married it UNFAIR and WRONG. just because they are happy they seem tro think that they have no reason to care for any one elses rights. i was in church on day an they pasture said that we should all vote yes on 8. to me i dont care what the bible says about same sex marriages being wrong .so i walked out and so did a bunch of other ppl the day after i asked my pasture if i could have a one one meeting with him to clear my thought so i broughgt up prop 8 . i told him what i might ask him might seem unfriendly but its not ment to be ….i asked him if he loved his wife …he said yes of corse .well then i asked what he would do if just 10 ppl voted and told him that he cant marry bhis wife no matter how hard he tried to make i work ….then he told me to each his own …which means what ever some body wants shouldnt bug you so just let it be …then i asked him if he goes by that then why does he say yes on 8 ….i got no answer the thing is to this story is that no matter how young you are you have the right to be wat ever you want to be and nobody should have the right to make it so that you dont have a choise ….
there are already so many gay people in america that there is real;ly no point in this propisistion and EVERYBODY knows it no matter how hard the try there is never going top be a gay free america so the should just give up i like america this way and nobody should try it ……my name is mariah and i am 16 years old and i am against proposision 8!!!!!!
