It’s good to know that even corporations can take positive stands, and even better, not let themselves be intimidated into following a certain agenda.

I have to say that I’m all for boycotts. I refused to see Milk at a Cinemark theatre (I live in SF- I HAD to see it at the Castro Theatre anyway). Not to give them pointers, but boycotts usually don’t work anymore. Do they really think that people are going to give up Pepsi?

Enough ranting for now. Check out my blog for other rants on civil and human rights.

You moron! AFA is not trying to force Pepsi to follow their agenda. They’re just trying to get them to remain neutral on the issue. It’s not like they’re saying “You better support anti-gay causes or else!…” It’s actually the exact opposite. Personally, I’m a life long Pepsi drinker. I’ve always thought Pepsi was the best but after all this, I will be giving up Pepsi. Yes, it is possible for people to give it up even if you can’t.

From a strong religious background and with a brother who is also gay, I think I’m qualified to state that I’m disappointed in Pepsi. I would expect all corporations to be a bit more middle-of-the-road on all topics. Now, I know their goal was to advertise and get the “What was that” factor and they did. In doing so, they crossed the line for many of us. I can accept my brother as gay, and I love him, but I can’t ascribe to the gay agenda that shoves it down our throughts! Come on! Think about it. Gays have come a long way in 20 years, but it’s got to the point that anything but absolute consession to the gay cause is hatred and bigotry. I would think it’s time to stop pushing people, especially the religious right, let them have a decade to adjust to a new world. Keep promoting your “rights”, but do so a little less aggresively and more rationally and calmly. Accept setbacks and be patient. As for Pepsi. Stop with the gay “Wow” ads and contributions to gay related agencies, and give to secular, middle-of-the-road groups.

I hope all of you who boycotted Pepsi are happy. They had to shut down 6 of their plants, laying off THOUSANDS of people…people who have families. Are you willing to make their house payments for them?

Yet another reason to drink Pepsi products. But the soda is terrible for my teeth. Guess I’ll have to drink more Aquafina!

I work for an independent Pepsi bottler and we’ve received a few calls from these nutjobs. Of course, they refuse to leave their names so they can get a return call from our owner. This is probably because our company donates thousands and thousands of dollars in product and cash to organizations and schools in our community. We probably sponsored their kid’s soccer team last year and they don’t want the gravy train to stop.

The funniest part of all this is that the owners of our company are staunch liberal democrats who find the whole thing quite hilarious. It’s done nothing, and will do nothing, to effect the business of Pepsico or any of it’s bottlers. We haven’t seen any reduction in sales at all. In fact, in our very conservative trade area, we had an increase in sales in Q1 of thise year.

So flame on, AFA! You look (and sound) like fools.

The AFA promotes hatred and bigotry…BEWARE!!! These folks are nuts!! Whenever I hear or see AFA, I know immediately to discredit anything I am reading or hearing. Keep up the hate-mongering, AFA…you’ll NEVER be taken seriously.
