The culture here is to keep things brushed under the carpet however most of my friends have not been happy with the reporting in Just Out the whole 5 years I have lived in Portland. Whether it will be paperless or in print only time will tell. It had lost touch with the gay community years ago and hasn't been able to get back in touch. I think the older generation felt it connected them to a community that they needed. The younger generation doesn't have this same feeling. They now live in a city with a gay mayor. It's always a little sad when something like this has come to it's end, but I don't see it as taking a step back,. I see it as sign of a community evolving.
