OUT Magazine’s Top 50 Most Powerful Gays: Anderson Cooper, Barney Frank and Ellen Top List
April 6, 2009 by Bryan
Power and Money have always been close companions, and the global economic crisis has only made them more so. But the Out Power 50 list has never been only about person wealth: congressman Barney Frank rose to the top this year because of his power over national financial policy. On the other hand, since just about everyone from Warren Buffet (not on our list — he’s not gay) to Dolce & Gabanna (also not on the list — they don’t live and work primarily in North America) has taken a personal financial hit, changes in person wealth generally didn’t affect rankings. As last year’s were, these were determined by: (1) Political clout; (2) cultural resonance; (3) individual wealth; and (4) current personal profile. New entries are marked with a star, and the arrows indicate change from last year’s rank.

Go here to see the full top 50.

I’ve always found it a bit odd that they name people who aren’t even OUT yet. Strange, I say.
[...] magazine has released its annual the top-50 list of the most powerful gay personages based on political clout, cultural resonance, individual wealth [...]
i was wondering when anderson cooper came out!?
Anderson was on it last year also. http://www.out.com/detail.asp?id=23576
Really, does anyone care about this? What about the top 50 Americans of Polish descent? How about the top 50 hot springs in the western U.S.? Why anyone would even wonder about someone’s sex life is like watching grass grow or paint dry. This kind of stuff has been way over long, long ago.
Barney Frank is treasonous lecher. His connections to Fannie Mae and other CRA pork barrels is well documented. Even now he is trying to stifle a bill to audit the Federal Reserve. He is a quintessential Congressional whore, selling out to the highest bidder every chance he gets. Then relying on our sound bite culture to cover his lies.
Poor, poor choice for number one. IMO he shouldn’t even be on the list.
