The same thing happened with a YMCA in Wisconsin a few months ago.

The previous post demonstrates exactly what some of us gays who can’t fully get on board with the movement have a problem with. The YMCA is a christian organization therefore at it’s core a religious institution, we can’t force them (religious institutions) to accept and admit us. Separation of church and state works both ways. They are wrong and time will bare that out, but we can’t make them be right.

The issue here is that the location we posted about (Lava Hot Springs State Foundation) is a state run establishment. Nothing to do with church. In fact, what happened to church and state?

This is a shame.. We will be adding this to our list of outreach needs. If any readers would like to share there ‘discrimination’ experiences, we would love to hear, so we can better justify where our focuses are needed by priority. Additionally, suggestions are welcome.

I think if the State is the one that did the advertising they should be the ones to blame.
Honestly, I do not understand how state code defines marriage, but has no universal definition of a family. This gay couple and their children should have all the benefits that an average and fully accepted family would have. The dictionary definition of “family” is: parents and their children, considered as a group, whether dwelling together or not. How then, can you not consider this same sex couple and their legally adopted children to be a family? Not only does denying them the family rate make Lava Hot Springs look terrible, but it is also just a truly pathetic and cruel way of running a business.
The couple may be gay but they are still paying the bills, raising the children, and giving them opportunities. They are a family, and deserve every right to a family discount. It is truly upsetting to hear about incidents like this.
