Both President Obama and the NAACP need to rescue the children trapped in schools where learning is almost impossible. We cannot keep blaming parents for the failure of a school system that will not allow parents to place their children in the schools that best fit their needs. i want to say first and foremost; that’s not true.
i actually know two men ages 27 and 29 in tacoma, wa who are two very good friends of mine who are gay and plan to get married in january 2010.
also, that my wife, who is black, supports gay marriage in true. i do as well, however i’m white to it’s rather null in this argument.
I understand that Obama may be trying to fight a losing battle but at least he has the balls to fight it. So many politicians are so consumed with what will win them a popularity contest. I admit at first I was not or Obama. But he is slowly earning respect in my eyes because of his committment to his ideals and beliefs regarding discrimination. Kudos to him and I hope he continues because it would be really nice to be able to marry the woman I love.
Obama has some nice speaches, but action wise? notta! The black community nor any other can pass laws like DOMA in this country to descrimintae against a group like gay people. It must be reversed, or we should gather popular votes to end marrige of blacks, asains, blondes, everyone over 40, everyone under 40, mexicans, baptist, catholics, mormons and all other minority groups. It’s not a constitutional choice. He simply needs to have the balls to uphold teh constitution as he swore to do and be the first president that’s publically taken that oath in front of the world to do so. I for one am very tierd of paying taxes to still be denighned equal rights and treated as a sub-human. I wish all gay people would just stop paying tax, then it wouldn’t matter much what baptist blacks, catholic mexicans and ignorant poor white trash said about any damn thing.
We understand that marriage may not be recognized, but we beleive that people should be recognized for their talents and skills and not be discimminated against for their sexual orientation. President Obama send this message to Joyce Payne who has made anti gay statements.
